The Vigil28 bot

What our monitoring crawler does, and how to reach us if it bothers you.

What it is

Vigil28 is a GDPR Article 28 compliance service. On behalf of our customers, our bot periodically checks publicly available sub-processor and vendor list pages of companies our customers have a data processing agreement with. It reads the page, detects changes, and alerts the customer before their objection deadline expires.

We only fetch publicly accessible pages. We do not log in, fill forms, or access anything behind authentication.

How to identify it

  • Requests come from bot.vigil28.eu (reverse DNS).
  • User-Agent string: Vigil28Bot/1.0 (+https://vigil28.eu/bot)
  • We honor robots.txt rules and rate-limit our requests.

If the bot is causing harm

If our bot is disrupting your service, fetching pages you want excluded, or causing any other problem, contact us and we will act promptly:

  • Email: hello@vigil28.eu (subject: “bot issue”)
  • We will stop requests to your pages or adjust crawl behaviour on request, typically within one business day.
